Perturbative Effects in the Form Factor γγ∗ → π and Extraction of the Pion Distribution Amplitude from CLEO Data

چکیده
We study the pion form factor F πγγ ∗ (Q2) in the light-cone sum rule approach, accounting for radiative corrections and higher twist effects. Comparing the results to the CLEO experimental data on F πγγ ∗ (Q2), we extract the the pion distribution amplitude of twist-2. The deviation of the distribution amplitude from the asymptotic one is small and is estimated to be a2(μ) = 0.12± 0.03 at μ = 2.4 GeV, in the model with one non-asymptotic term. The ansatz with two non-asymptotic terms gives some region of a2 and a4, which is consistent with the asymptotic distribution amplitude, but does not agree with some old models. Perturbative Effects in the Form Factor γγ∗ → π and Extraction of the Pion Wave Function from CLEO Data
We study the perturbative QCD contribution of the twist-2 operator to the lightcone QCD sum rule for the γγ → π0 form factor. We derive QCD sum rules at next-to-leading order (NLO), which give predictions for the F πγγ ∗ (Q2) form factor. We perform a detailed numerical analysis. Using CLEO experimental data, we extract the shape of the pion wave function of twist-2. We estimate the Gegenbauer ...
متن کاملPion distribution amplitude and form-factors: Improved Gaussian model of QCD vacuum
We describe the present status of the pion distribution amplitude (DA) as it originated from several sources: (i) a nonperturbative approach, based on QCD sum rules with nonlocal condensates, (ii) an O(αs) QCD analysis of the CLEO data on F γγ∗π(Q2) with asymptotic and renormalon models for higher twists, and (iii) recent high-precision lattice QCD calculations of the second moment of the pion ...
متن کاملThe annihilation of virtual photons into pseudoscalar mesons
We investigate the possibility to constrain the pion distribution amplitude from the γ ∗ γ ∗ → π transition. For a surprisingly large range in the two photon virtualities we find that the transition form factor is essentially independent of the distribution amplitude. This in turn entails a parameter-free prediction of QCD. The γγ → η, η form factors are also briefly discussed. We estimate that...
متن کاملThe handbag contribution to γγ → ππ and KK
We investigate the soft handbag contribution to two-photon annihilation into pion or kaon pairs at large energy and momentum transfer. The amplitude is expressed as a hard γγ → q ¯ q subprocess times a form factor describing the soft transition from q ¯ q to the meson pair. We find the calculated angular dependence of the cross section in good agreement with data, and extract annihilation form ...
متن کاملPion distribution amplitude – from theory to data
We describe the present status of the pion distribution amplitude as originated from two sources: (i) a nonperturbative approach, based on QCD sum rules with nonlocal condensates, and (ii) a NLO QCD analysis of the CLEO data on Fγγ ∗π(Q2), supplemented by the E791 data on diffractive dijet production, and the JLab F(pi) data on the pion electromagnetic form factor. 1. PION DISTRIBUTION AMPLITUD...
